Our 5 senses help us distinguish what we like and what we don’t like, or what we are attracted to and what repels us. While our eyes and our ears are the main sensory factors that marketers have played off of since the beginning of advertising, researchers have found that scent is an extremely important factor when marketing a product or service.

While the fragrance industry is based on the creation and marketing of scent, salons and spas should also consider the value of scent and how it can influence or improve a customer’s experience.
