To get you started on your holiday promotional calendar here are a few effective marketing goals and the ways to achieve them. Of course, they may not all apply to your demographics, so customization and personalization is key.

Increase your retail performance. The easiest way to achieve this is to have each service provider sell a minimum of TWO products per day (the average stylist sells barely one product per day).You can also try offering a 25% discount on any second product purchased.

Increase client visit frequency. Of course, pre-booking is the way to go here. If clients are leery about pre-booking due to finances, help them devise a monthly service schedule that stays within their budget. By splitting services between visits, you may actually be able to increase their annual spending.

Increase your gift certificate business. Convince your clients that a gift certificate from your salon or spa is a great gift idea. For a limited time, offer a $100 gift certificate for the purchase price of only $80.This is sure to increase your gift certificate sales by providing a financial incentive while offering the benefits of the full certificate value.

Increase your clientele. Entice your existing clients to bring in their friends by providing both with a reward of a free service, gift, or special price. Open houses, education evenings and guest speakers also provide opportunities to entice new clientele to try your services or products.
